Fun Christmas Show
The musical was a fun show for a girls night out with my two best friends, even though the story line was changed quite a bit. We both enjoy the movie and enjoyed the music. The actor playing Buddy did a good job and had an amazing voice, the music was catchy and fun. The only swears in the play were the words "bitchy" twice right in a row and "pissed off". There were a lot of reviews that mentioned swearing and adult jokes. The character portrayals varied from the movie, but it was a fun show nonetheless. The relationship between Buddy and Michael was downplayed, focusing more on Buddy and Jovie. The actors who played Buddy and Michael were both very talented singers. Any adult humor would go over most kids' heads. There were children in the audience and they seemed to have enjoyed it. The music and dancing was very Bob Fosse with a lot of overly dramatic movements and jazz style singing and dancing.
